The controversial national cathedral building project initiated by President Akuffo Addo has been having problems with funding to aid in its construction ever since it was announced as the citizens are not in support of the project.
President Akuffo Addo stated that he had made a promise to God that he was going to build a cathedral for him. However, the project has since been facing financial problems. A Nigerian church has however decided to come to the rescue of the project by donating to support its construction.
The church, known as the Redeemed Christian Church of God, based in Nigeria, has donated 11,500 Cedis to aid the construction of the national cathedral. The presentation of the gift was made by the general secretary of the church, Mr. Samuel Kofi Annan Wilson. The money was received on behalf of the national cathedral project by Dr. Paul Opoku Mensah.
According to the Nigerian church’s general secretary, the donation to the cathedral was a seed they were sowing since they were all part of the well-being of the church. According to him, the people should always be willing to do what the nation wants them to do.
